This song was written by a woman I grew up with in church. After attending a funeral for one of the members of the Plattsmouth Church of Christ, where I grew up, we were having a conversation about poetry. We decided to attempt a collaboration on writing some songs. This is the first song we collaborated on. She wrote the poem for the first verse and came up with the melody. After listening, I transcribed it into a musical score, then added a couple of verses to round out the song.
